| Using
analytical hypnosis I will ascertain which part of your mind is gaining
a satisfaction link from whatever problem you may be suffering from. For
example an individual may be desperate to refrain from smoking but a part
of their mind may be gaining satisfaction from the fact that they are
harming themselves. Obviously this is not a satisfactory state of events,
it is my job as a therapist to move that satisfaction link elsewhere -
to somewhere more benficial to the client. Imagine a scenario where a
baby is playing with a sharp knife. Obviously you want to take the knife
from the child for its own protection. However if you just take the knife
away the child will scream and yell and possibly grab something else to
play with, it could be more dangerous than the knife. However, if you
replace the knife with something safe and just as interesting the child
will barely notice that it isnt playing with the knife and will be just
as happy but much safer!! This is what I as the hypnotherapist will do
with the client replacing the dangerous satisfaction link with something
safe.
I
will then use regression techniques to take the client back to where a
trauma occured so that the client can see why they are reacting in the
way that they are. This will help the client to come to terms with something
that has happened in their past and move on with their life.
Whilst
using analytical techniques I will also use suggestion hypnosis to help
re-affirm a certain pattern of thinking, this can be very effective for
certain problems such as some phobias. |
